Technology interdependence

Also known as: Technological interdependence, Multi-tool strategy

The strategic use of multiple complementary technologies in combination to accomplish tasks that no single tool can fully support. For people with disabilities, technology interdependence is particularly relevant in complex real-world activities like travel, where different tools address different needs — navigation, orientation, communication, environmental evaluation — and must be orchestrated together. The concept challenges the assumption that a single assistive technology solution can comprehensively address all access needs in a given domain.
