Heuristic evaluation
Also known as: Expert review, Usability inspection
A usability and accessibility evaluation method where trained evaluators systematically assess an interface against a set of recognized principles or guidelines (heuristics) to identify potential problems. In accessibility contexts, heuristic evaluation applies principles from WCAG, universal design, or domain-specific guidelines to identify barriers, offering a cost-effective complement to automated testing and user testing with people with disabilities.
