Usage analytics
Also known as: Telemetry, Interaction logging
The collection and analysis of data about how users interact with a technology system in real-world settings, including session duration, feature usage frequency, settings preferences, and interaction patterns over time. In assistive technology research, large-scale usage analytics from deployed apps can reveal diverse user communities and unanticipated usage patterns that small lab studies miss, though privacy concerns require careful anonymization, particularly for disabled users whose interaction patterns may be re-identifiable.
