Points of interest
Also known as: POI, Landmarks
Specific locations in the environment that are useful or relevant to a user, such as shops, restaurants, transit stops, public buildings, and other named places. In accessible navigation for people with visual impairments, points of interest serve dual roles: they provide practical information about nearby services and amenities, and they function as cognitive landmarks that help users build spatial mental maps and orient themselves within their environment.
