Universal design for learning

Also known as: UDL

An educational framework based on research in the learning sciences that guides the development of flexible learning experiences to accommodate individual learning differences. UDL provides multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression, ensuring that curricula are designed from the outset to meet the needs of all learners, including those with disabilities. Rather than retrofitting accommodations, UDL proactively removes barriers in the instructional design process, making it a key principle in accessible education.
