Co-creation workshop

Also known as: Co-creation session, Co-design workshop

A structured collaborative session in which researchers, designers, and participants (including end users) work together to generate ideas, explore concepts, and shape the design of products, services, or research. In accessibility contexts, co-creation workshops are valued for centering disabled people's lived experiences in the design process. However, standard workshop practices — printed materials, visual prototyping tools, Post-it notes, whiteboards — can be inaccessible to participants with visual impairments or other disabilities. Inclusive co-creation requires deliberate design of accessible materials (tactile, audio, multi-sensory), accessible facilitation methods, and recognition that disabled people can be both participants and workshop leaders.
