Predictive AI
Also known as: Predictive Analytics, Predictive Algorithm
AI systems that use machine learning to identify patterns in data and anticipate future outcomes, behaviors, or events. In the context of disability, predictive AI systems have been documented causing significant harm by making decisions about resource allocation (welfare benefits, healthcare budgets), employment screening (personality assessments, facial analysis), education (grade prediction, at-risk student identification), fraud detection (flagging disability-related behaviors as suspicious), and security (profiling based on disability characteristics). Predictive AI is the most common type of AI system found to cause negative outcomes for people with disabilities.
