Multimodal Feedback

Also known as: Multi-Sensory Feedback

The simultaneous or coordinated use of multiple sensory channels — such as auditory, tactile, and visual — to convey information to a user. In accessibility, multimodal feedback is essential for creating inclusive interfaces that do not rely on a single sense. Combining audio with haptic or tactile feedback has been shown to improve comprehension, reduce cognitive load, and enhance spatial understanding for users with sensory impairments, particularly in data visualization and navigation contexts.
