Lookout

Also known as: Google Lookout

An Android accessibility application developed by Google that uses the smartphone camera and machine learning to identify objects, read text, scan documents, and describe surroundings for blind and partially sighted users. Lookout can identify currency, read food labels, describe scenes, and scan barcodes, providing independence in daily tasks that would otherwise require sighted assistance. In low-resource settings, it serves as a substitute for dedicated reading devices and magnifiers.
