Augmented Reality
Also known as: AR
A technology that overlays digital information—such as images, text, or 3D objects—onto the real-world environment in real time, typically viewed through a head-mounted display, smartphone, or tablet. Unlike virtual reality, augmented reality maintains visibility of the physical environment while enhancing it with virtual elements. In accessibility, AR has applications for wayfinding, object recognition, text magnification, and providing contextual information to people with visual, cognitive, or other disabilities.
