Sheet Music

Also known as: Musical Score, Written Music

A printed or digital document that uses musical notation to represent a musical composition, showing pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and other performance instructions through standardized symbols on a staff. Reading sheet music while playing (sight-reading) is fundamental to musical performance and education. For visually impaired musicians, standard sheet music poses significant accessibility challenges due to its small symbols, fixed formatting, reliance on both horizontal and vertical spatial information, and the need for simultaneous detailed and global vision.
