Makerspace

Also known as: Fab Lab, Fabrication Laboratory, Hackerspace

A collaborative workspace equipped with tools and technology for designing and fabricating physical objects, typically including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and electronics workbenches. University and community makerspaces have become important sites for assistive technology innovation, enabling the creation of customized devices. Accessibility of makerspaces themselves remains an ongoing concern, as many are not fully usable by people with disabilities.
