Depth Perception

The visual ability to perceive the relative distance of objects in three-dimensional space. Depth perception relies on binocular vision and other visual cues. Reduced depth perception can affect a persons ability to navigate physical environments safely, judge distances, and interact with objects. For musicians with low vision, poor depth perception can create hazards in performance spaces, make it difficult to navigate stages with props or equipment, and affect the ability to orient hands on instruments relative to a music stand.
