Page Turner
Also known as: Page Turning Aid
Any device, tool, or person that assists a musician in turning the pages of a music score during performance. Traditional page turners are human assistants who sit beside a musician and turn pages on cue. Technological alternatives include Bluetooth foot pedals for digital scores, mechanical page-turning devices for paper scores, and software features that auto-scroll or reflow music. For musicians with low vision, page turning is a significant accessibility challenge because enlarged notation requires many more pages, and digital page turns can cause disorienting delays.
