Science Museum
Also known as: Science Center, Science Centre
An institution dedicated to informally communicating science to the public through interactive exhibits, multimedia displays, hands-on workshops, and themed experiences. Unlike traditional collection-based museums, science museums emphasize engagement, experimentation, and understanding of scientific concepts. While their interactive and visual nature makes them popular with sighted visitors, these same features create significant accessibility barriers for visitors with visual impairments, as exhibits often rely heavily on visual displays, videos, and touch-screen interfaces that are not accessible without intervention.
