Visual Literacy

The ability to interpret, evaluate, and create visual messages and content. Visual literacy encompasses understanding visual conventions (like color symbolism, composition rules, and typographic hierarchies), evaluating the aesthetic quality and effectiveness of visual communication, and making informed visual design decisions. For blind individuals, visual literacy can be developed through descriptive feedback, cultural exposure, and hands-on creative experience, challenging the assumption that visual understanding requires sight.
