Insertion Error
Also known as: Missing Text Error
A type of text error where content that should be present is missing, requiring the user to navigate to the correct position and add the missing characters, words, or phrases. Insertion errors are challenging for blind users because determining the exact cursor position for insertion—whether before or after a word, at a word boundary, or within a word—is difficult without visual feedback. Systems that automatically handle spacing and positioning when inserting text can significantly reduce this burden.
