Deformable Input
Also known as: Flexible Input Surface
An input method that uses physically flexible or pressure-sensitive surfaces that can be bent, squeezed, twisted, or otherwise deformed to generate control signals. Deformable input devices can provide accessible interaction for users with motor impairments, as they may require less precise movements than touchscreen tapping and can be customized to the range of motion available to individual users. Research has explored deformable input for blind users controlling mobile screen readers, offering an alternative to swipe gestures on flat screens.
