Impulsivity

Also known as: Impulsiveness

A core symptom of ADHD characterized by acting without forethought, difficulty waiting, interrupting others, and making hasty decisions without considering consequences. In digital contexts, impulsivity can lead to premature form submissions, unintended purchases, accidental navigation away from important content, and hasty engagement with misinformation. Accessible design for impulsivity includes confirmation dialogs for irreversible actions, undo functionality, clear warnings before consequential decisions, and interfaces that gently slow down critical interactions without being frustrating.
