Thematic Analysis

Also known as: TA

A qualitative research method for identifying, analyzing, and reporting patterns (themes) within data. Thematic analysis involves systematically coding data, grouping codes into themes, and refining those themes to tell a coherent story about the data. It is widely used in accessibility and HCI research to analyze interview transcripts, survey responses, online comments, and observational data. The method is flexible enough to work with various theoretical frameworks and is particularly valuable for understanding user experiences, perceptions, and strategies that cannot be captured through quantitative methods alone.
