Neuroplasticity
Also known as: Brain Plasticity, Neural Plasticity
The brain's ability to reorganize its structure and function in response to experience, learning, and environmental stimulation throughout life. Neuroplasticity is a legitimate neuroscience concept, but in autism tech marketing it is often invoked to suggest that technology can fundamentally rewire autistic brains toward neurotypical functioning. This rhetorical use of neuroplasticity lends scientific credibility to intervention claims while implicitly framing autistic neurology as something that should be changed. Critical scholars note that invoking neuroplasticity allows companies to position their products within medical and scientific discourse while avoiding direct claims about curing or treating autism.
