Seeing AI
A free AI-powered app developed by Microsoft for blind and low vision users that uses computer vision and AI to describe the visual world. Features include reading short text, documents, and handwriting; identifying products via barcodes; recognizing people and their emotions; describing scenes and images; identifying currency; and detecting light and color. Seeing AI was one of the pioneering AI-powered visual access applications and continues to be widely used by BLV individuals for daily tasks. Like other AI-powered tools, its descriptions may contain inaccuracies that require user awareness and verification strategies.
