Verification Mechanism
Also known as: Verification System
A feature or process that allows users to confirm that a system has correctly understood and executed their intended action. In accessible calendar design, verification mechanisms are critical because BLV users cannot quickly visually scan for errors and rely on the system to accurately report what it has done. Effective verification includes concise confirmation summaries before execution, easy access to review created or modified events, read-back of entered information, and the ability to quickly compare intended versus actual results. BLV users consistently emphasize the need for reliable verification, with some preferring voice summaries and others wanting the ability to verify through screen reader navigation of the calendar interface.
