Digital Reading

The act of reading text on digital devices including computers, tablets, smartphones, and e-readers. Digital reading differs from print reading in that it enables dynamic text modification, multimodal augmentation, and assistive technology integration that are not possible with printed text. However, research on reading support technologies has disproportionately focused on web-based digital reading, with less attention to mobile reading, e-books, and the interaction between digital and print reading contexts.
