Sign Language Video

Also known as: Sign Language Interpretation Video

Pre-recorded or live video content presenting information in sign language, used to augment or replace written text for deaf and hard of hearing users. In reading support contexts, sign language videos have been explored as visual augmentations to text, providing sign translations for individual words, short text snippets, or full passages. Research has shown that deaf readers generally prefer sign language videos and pictures over other forms of augmentation such as animated mouth movements or digital lip reading. Scaling sign language video content remains a significant challenge.
