User Study
Also known as: Usability Study, User Evaluation
A research method in which participants interact with a system, tool, or interface while researchers observe, measure, and collect feedback on the user experience. User studies in accessibility research are essential for evaluating whether technologies actually meet the needs of people with disabilities. In reading support research, user studies commonly measure reading speed, comprehension, and subjective satisfaction, though sample sizes tend to be small (median 15 participants) and most evaluations are short-term and lab-based rather than conducted in real-world settings.
