Motion Capture
Also known as: MoCap, Movement Tracking
Technology that records the movements of people or objects, typically using cameras, sensors, or computer vision, and translates them into digital data for animation or analysis. In sign language applications, motion capture tracks hand, body, and facial movements to drive signing avatars in real-time or to analyze signing accuracy. Modern approaches use markerless systems like MediaPipe that extract 3D landmarks from standard webcam feeds, making motion capture more accessible than traditional marker-based systems that require specialized equipment.
