Field of View
Also known as: FoV, Viewing Angle
The angular extent of the observable world visible at any given moment. In the context of head-mounted displays like the HoloLens 2, the field of view refers to the area in which virtual content can be displayed, which is typically narrower than natural human vision. This limited FoV is a significant accessibility consideration for AR applications — users must move their heads to see virtual objects outside the display area, which can be both a challenge (hindering natural interaction) and an opportunity (encouraging beneficial head-scanning behaviors in low-vision training).
