Gesture-Based Interaction
Also known as: Gesture Control, Gestural Input
A mode of human-computer interaction where users control digital systems through hand or body movements detected by cameras or sensors, rather than through traditional input devices. In mixed reality headsets like the HoloLens 2, gesture-based interactions include touching, grabbing, pinching, and moving virtual objects with tracked hands. For low-vision users, these interactions are generally intuitive but can present challenges related to depth perception, the headset's limited gesture recognition zone, and difficulty maintaining objects within the field of view during movement.
