Object Hierarchy

Also known as: Object Group, Hierarchical Object Organization

A structured organization of objects into parent-child relationships that allows users to navigate from high-level categories to increasingly specific details. In accessible virtual environments, object hierarchies enable BLV users to progressively explore complex scenes by first identifying broad elements (a market stall) and then drilling into constituent parts (individual items for sale). This approach mirrors how screen readers organize web content through headings and landmarks, adapting the concept for 3-D spatial environments.
