Flexible Media

Also known as: Object-Based Media

A method of producing audiovisual media in which different components of the content (such as audio tracks, video angles, and subtitle layers) are stored as separate elements and assembled at runtime based on viewer preferences and needs. Flexible media enables individual accessible personalised versions of content by allowing elements to be swapped, adjusted, or combined differently for each viewer, while preserving the original content for those who do not need adaptations.
