Telehealth
Also known as: Telepractice, Telemedicine, Virtual Healthcare
The delivery of healthcare services, clinical assessments, and therapeutic interventions remotely using telecommunications technology such as videoconferencing, phone calls, and digital platforms. Telehealth expanded dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic and has become an important modality for accessibility-related services including speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and assistive technology training. For people with disabilities, telehealth can reduce transportation barriers and enable services in the home environment, though it may limit hands-on device setup and physical prompting.
