Online Community
Also known as: Virtual Community, Online Forum
A group of people who interact and share information through internet-based platforms such as mailing lists, forums, social media groups, or Q&A sites. For people with disabilities, online communities serve as critical resources for sharing accessibility knowledge, troubleshooting assistive technology issues, and advocating for better access. Text-based communities like mailing lists are particularly accessible to screen reader users because content is inherently linear and searchable, though they can struggle to convey complex spatial or procedural information.
