Personalization Semantics

Also known as: WAI-Adapt

A W3C specification that defines standardized semantics enabling content to be adapted to individual user needs and preferences. Personalization Semantics allows web authors to add metadata attributes to HTML elements that describe their purpose, importance, or function in a way that user agents and assistive technologies can use to transform or simplify the presentation. For example, content can be tagged with symbols, simplified labels, or priority levels, enabling personalized interfaces for users with cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, or other needs that benefit from adapted content presentation.
