A structured approach for transitioning individuals, teams, and organizations from a current state to a desired future state. In accessibility, change management addresses the human and organizational factors that determine whether accessibility improvements are adopted and sustained — factors such as leadership support, training, resource allocation, role clarity, and institutional culture. Research consistently shows that technical knowledge alone is insufficient for achieving accessibility compliance; organizations also need strategies for building desire, capability, and long-term reinforcement among the diverse stakeholders who create and maintain digital content.
