Visual Schedule
Also known as: Picture Schedule, Activity Schedule
A visual representation of a sequence of activities or steps that an individual is expected to complete, using pictures, symbols, photographs, or written words arranged in chronological order. Visual schedules are widely used in educational and therapeutic settings for autistic individuals to provide predictability, reduce anxiety about transitions, and support independence. They can represent an entire day, a specific routine (such as a morning routine), or the steps within a single task. Visual schedules can be physical (printed cards on a board) or digital (displayed on a tablet or device).
