Patient Portal

Also known as: Electronic Health Portal, Health Portal

A secure online platform that gives patients access to their personal health information, such as medical records, lab results, medication lists, and appointment summaries. Patient portals are intended to improve patient engagement and health management, but they often present significant accessibility barriers for users with disabilities, including complex navigation, inconsistent screen reader support, and fragmented systems that require separate logins for different healthcare providers.
