Arthritis
A group of conditions involving inflammation of the joints, causing pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced range of motion. The most common forms are osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) and rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune condition). Arthritis significantly impacts the ability to use standard input devices such as keyboards, mice, and touchscreens, as well as VR controllers that require grip strength or fine motor control. Accessible design for people with arthritis includes larger touch targets, reduced need for sustained grip or repetitive motions, and customizable input methods.
