Borderline Personality Disorder

Also known as: BPD

A mental health condition characterized by extreme fluctuations in mood, energy, and ability to function, along with patterns of unstable relationships, distorted self-image, and intense emotional responses. People with BPD may experience impulsive behavior, chronic feelings of emptiness, and difficulty regulating emotions. In the context of digital accessibility, BPD is relevant because individuals with this condition frequently turn to online resources and self-assessment tools to understand their symptoms, given that professional diagnosis can be difficult to obtain and the condition carries significant stigma. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is considered the most effective treatment.
