HamNoSys
Also known as: Hamburg Notation System
A phonetic transcription system designed to represent the form of signs in any sign language. Developed at the University of Hamburg, HamNoSys captures detailed information about hand movements, handshapes, and body positioning using a standardised set of symbols. It is one of the most widely used notation systems for computational sign language modeling and is used as an intermediary representation in sign language generation pipelines, particularly for driving signing avatar animations.
