Open Educational Resources

Also known as: OER

Teaching, learning, and research materials in any medium that are freely available for use, adaptation, and redistribution. OER can include textbooks, course materials, videos, assessments, and software tools, typically released under open licenses such as Creative Commons. Despite the inclusive intent of the OER movement, many OER repositories and the resources themselves present significant accessibility barriers for people with disabilities, including inaccessible website interfaces, lack of alternative text for images, uncaptioned videos, and documents not structured for assistive technology use.
