Linked Data

Also known as: Linked Open Data, LOD

A method of publishing structured data on the web so that it can be interlinked and queried across different sources using standard web technologies such as URIs and RDF (Resource Description Framework). In accessibility contexts, linked data has been proposed as a way to standardize and share accessibility metadata — such as alternative text descriptions, content adaptations, and user preferences — across different web applications and platforms. This approach allows accessibility information created for one application to be reused by others, potentially reducing duplication of effort in making web content accessible. Linked data principles support the development of shared accessibility repositories and interoperable assistive technologies.
