Accessible Tourism
Also known as: Inclusive Tourism, Tourism for All
The practice of ensuring that tourism destinations, products, and services are accessible to all people regardless of their physical, sensory, or cognitive abilities. Accessible tourism encompasses the entire travel chain — from trip planning and booking through transport, accommodation, and activities at the destination. It requires accessible information about venues and routes, step-free transport options, adapted accommodation, and trained staff. The European Commission has identified accessible tourism as a significant priority given the barriers people with disabilities face when travelling.
