Learning Object

Also known as: LO, Reusable Learning Object, RLO

A self-contained, reusable unit of educational content that can be independently accessed, combined with other learning objects, and delivered across different learning management systems. Learning objects can include text, multimedia, interactive exercises, assessments, or any combination thereof. For accessibility, learning objects must include appropriate metadata describing their accessibility features and alternatives, and each component must meet accessibility standards so that the educational content is usable by learners with diverse needs and abilities.
