Interface Personalisation
Also known as: Interface Personalization, UI Personalisation, Adaptive Interface
The ability for users to configure and customise the user interface of a digital system to match their individual needs, preferences, and abilities. In accessibility contexts, interface personalisation allows users to adjust settings such as text size, colour schemes, audio output, input methods, and content complexity. This approach shifts accessibility from a one-size-fits-all model to a user-driven model where individuals define how they interact with technology. Portable personalisation profiles — where preferences travel with the user across devices and services — represent an emerging best practice for accessible design.
