Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Also known as: NDD, Neurodevelopmental Disabilities

A group of conditions that originate during the developmental period and are characterized by impairments in personal, social, academic, or occupational functioning. Neurodevelopmental disorders include intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, specific learning disorders, and motor disorders. These conditions frequently co-occur and affect areas such as language, speech, memory, learning, social behavior, and motor skills. For digital accessibility, understanding the diverse needs within NDD is essential because individuals may experience a wide range of cognitive, sensory, and motor challenges that require flexible, customizable interfaces and interaction methods.
