Quadriplegia
Also known as: Tetraplegia
Paralysis affecting all four limbs and typically the torso, usually resulting from spinal cord injury at the cervical (neck) level, or from conditions like ALS or muscular dystrophy. The degree of impairment varies based on the level and completeness of injury—some individuals retain partial arm or hand function while others have no voluntary movement below the neck. For accessibility, quadriplegia often requires alternative input methods such as voice control, eye tracking, sip-and-puff switches, or brain-computer interfaces, along with screen reader support and hands-free navigation.
