Design for All
Also known as: DfA, Design pour Tous
A European design philosophy that aims to create products, environments, and services usable by the widest possible range of people without adaptation or specialized design. Originating from the European Institute for Design and Disability (now Design for All Europe), this approach emphasizes proactive consideration of human diversity from the earliest stages of design. While closely related to Universal Design and Inclusive Design, Design for All has particular currency in European policy contexts and is referenced in EU accessibility directives and standards.
