Landmarks

Designated regions of a web page that provide structural navigation points for assistive technology users. ARIA landmark roles include banner, navigation, main, complementary, contentinfo, search, form, and region. Screen reader users can jump between landmarks using keyboard shortcuts, allowing them to skip repetitive content and navigate directly to major page sections. Proper use of landmarks significantly improves navigation efficiency for users who cannot visually scan a page layout. HTML5 semantic elements like header, nav, main, aside, and footer automatically convey landmark roles.
