Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale
Also known as: UPDRS, MDS-UPDRS
A standardized clinical assessment tool used to measure the severity and progression of Parkinson's Disease across multiple domains: mental, behavioral, and mood; activities of daily living; motor examination; and treatment complications. The scale is administered by healthcare providers during clinical visits, typically every six months. Self-tracking technologies aim to supplement UPDRS by capturing day-to-day symptom fluctuations between appointments, though research shows self-reported data can differ from clinical observations due to patients' altered self-perception of their symptoms.
